While returning from my first
Himalyan experience (Hemkunt Saheb & Valley of flowers) I, with my friends,
came accross this beautiful place - Chopta. Due to time constraint, we could
not get a good chance to experience it and I decided to anyhow visit this place
again, provided, my Beast Yamaha FZS is with me.
Soooo..... Here we are.. on
Saturday, 08th September,2012, me and my friend Harsh Kumar Chauhan decided to
have a four day (08th to 11th September) trip to Chopta. This time we included
Tehri Dam to our experience. Therefore we decided to take this route
Delhi-Haridwar-Rudraprayag-Chopta-Tilwara-Tehri-Chamba-Mussorie-DehraDun-Delhi.
About the place:
How to Reach: Chopta can be reached by via Ukhimath or Gopeshwar. There are small Shops & rooms available with basic facility for Trekkers to Tungnath.
Bus: Delhi - Rudraprayag and then Rudraprayag - Chopta.
Best time to visit: April to November.
After having our beast feeded at the Yamaha Service station, we were again, on the heaven's ride.....
One may wish that this Road never ends.. and finally we are at Chopta. Tunganath temple is at 3km Trek from Chopta so lets enjoy the trek closest to nature ......
Day 3: On our way back to home, we decided to visit Tehri Dam.. Photographs are not allowed here.
We reached Chamba by sunset and had overnight stay there.
Day 4: I am not posting photos of Mussourie as every one knows about these places and almost all Delhi ites have been there. However, Dhanhaulti.. just 30 km from Mussourie, is a great place.. here is the visual treat again:

Anyways, after having breakfast from

As per plan, our first day halt would be at RudraPrayag. Although, Delhi-Rudra Prayag is ~ 350 km, we reached Rudraprayag at 7:30 PM. We met our first day target, and thats good. We found Sangam Hotel for only INR 250.00 for night stay. Our sleeping habbit ruined our schedule a bit. We woke up at 8:30 am! and the plan was to leave for Chopta at 6:00 am.
Day 2:
And now, as we have entered the Mighty Himalayas, I can
surely tell and suggest that Days - Just after the monsoon - are the best to
visit and experience the beauty of the Himalayas. Here are some nerve chilling
